Charities Board of Directors

Broad River Electric Charities, Inc. is a non-profit organization that will disburse funds for charitable purposes in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union Counties. 

Most of those funds will come from the cooperative’s Operation Round-Up program. Money from Operation Round Up  and Hilarity for Charity Comedy Benefit  go into a benevolent fund that is managed by a 7-member governing board appointed by Broad River Electric Cooperative Board of Directors representing all three counties in the major service territory. The charter board consists of Daisy Lemmons and Trudy Martin of Cherokee County, Robert Bodie and Barbara Whitney of Spartanburg, and Barbara Pridemore and Carol Smith of Union. Richard Baines is the ex-officio as CEO of Broad River Electric Cooperative.
